Things to Ponder: Saudi Arabia bans the 'X'

Short post today, very busy, will be traveling this evening and gone for a week. But:

How did the Saudis get the message out?

Did they use a Fa machine?

Did they copy the memo on a ero copier?

Isn't this just a tad enophobic?

Will they now join the a is of Evil?

Do none of them play the ylophone?

Will they have to say Christmas instead of -mas?

Will they avoid doctors who recommend getting an -ray?

These things and more, for your consideration.

See you all in a week!

Off to do some House-sitting / Art / Other Shtuff.

in a couple of days. Looking forward to it. Molly the (English?) Setter looks forward to my being there. Frederick the cat might deign to make a few appearances during that week.

And I am curious to see if I can pin myself down to some practice drawing and writing while I am there. (The draw of 500 channels, especially any sci-fi or horror stuff, is close to irresistable).

Katarthis* recently introduced me to an online comic, 'Better Days':

http://www.jaynaylor.com/betterdays/

(This comic is a bit of a mix. If anyone who comes by here does read it: I wouldn't call it Conservative or Liberal in its' view... just Life. The author pretty much leaves it to you to decide. I only mention this because Kat put it in those terms)

After reading up this one, and just recently watching an Anime movie- 'Black Magic, M-66'- I've decided that the eyes interest me. I try to draw Realistically when I draw anthros; but for Thunderwing and myself to do our own online comic, I shall have to develope a different style. 'Better Days' is pushing me in that direction. I need to Simplfy if I am going to be able to create several strips a week. Mind you, this is still at least a year away. (Sooner if I work harder).

And finally...

(this one deals partly with the Politics forum on DA, the art site I post to) I find it amusing how the Blinkered Bridage on the Pol Forum works so hard to ignore information that counters what they want to believe. To them, everything is the fault of that Evil US. I could wish it wasn't going to take the Fall of the US (thanks to the efforts of those they believe in), for them to see just how Bad things can get. I know I do worry too much. And those closest to me, continue to tell me these things will not happen.

I'll believe it when I do NOT see it happening. God Help Us All if I / We all DO see it happening. The bad times that will bring, will last years if not Decades.

...Yeah. My mood is still out of whack. But sometimes that seems the Only time I manage serious writing. Pity my poor Thunderwing*, if to become a Sci-Fi / Fantasy writer, I have to be a Grump all the time!

* (names on the art site I post to)

In any case: I shall not be posting again until I return home. Stay safe!

Senate Bill 1 (section 220) - who can tell me?

Apparently there is a bill out there designed to make it very difficult for grassroots organizations to keep the Public informed about legislation moving through Congress.

To quote the AFA: 'The U.S. Senate is poised to pass Senate Bill 1 (Section 220), which would effectively keep AFA and every other pro-family organization in America from providing you information on bills in Congress. Under Senate Bill 1 (Section 220), we would only be able to provide you information on a bill at a high cost and at great danger of being penalized by Congress.

To put it bluntly, members of Congress are tired of getting your e-mails and phone calls, and Senate Bill 1(Section 220) is designed to keep information from you that might inspire you to call or write your senator. '

I find this just as egregious as conyers' H.Res 288, from which I believe - even though it is supposed to be 'non-binding'- activist judges will be able to use to the specific wording to create (Bad) laws.

Here's my question, to anyone who cares to give a Reasonable answer, be you Right or Left:

Do the AFA and others groups have a case?

WILL this legislation affect groups like MoveOn?

IS this yet another attempt to stifle Freedom of Speech?

I wish someone would tell me

What it is I am not understanding.

Freedom with NO responsibility apparently is a GOOD thing. Rights should be Unlimited. NO Consequences. Anyone who believes in Consequences, must be a bigoted neanderthal.

There are people out there arguing that it should be ok to Kill- I'm sorry, put down, euthanize, not sure what PC term one would like to use- children up to 8 years of age... because by their argument, children younger than that are NOT aware yet, hence NOT HUMAN. In other words, not much more than the fetus that can be aborted.
--

'as long as the child or the animal involved, demonstrate consent.'

That from a political party in the Netherlands. Yes, a Political Party. I have no doubt there are already people crafting arguments to support that. No doubt they will be finding ways to interpret the childs' / animals' behavior, to show that consent was given (but let's NOT see that there might have been some form of coercion, such as drugs). Hell, in time anyone who argues Against such thinking, will be portrayed as a bigot.

I won't be surprised. Nor will I be surprised by the cadres of psychiatrists that will be needed in every city, to 'treat' those children who 'misunderstand' the joys of what happened to them. Government funded cadres, no doubt. Oh and Lawyers, to sue the parents who object to the free exercising of other's Rights.
---

I could go on... but I am tired of this, and I have a LOT to get done today. All I know is, I must be slow, somehow. I don't quite understand how. Damn me for opposing unrestricted, consequence-free rights and freedoms.

Maybe my two best friends are right: I need to move on. Forget all this silliness. (I suspect one of them may not talk to me for a while).

I've been thinking of an online comic strip for several years now. I won't ever get to it, unless I WORK at it.

(If you want to see an old, less-than-what-I-can-do pic of one of the characters in that comic, look here:

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14628385/?qo=21&q=by%3Akajm&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps

(It is poor, I know. But I have done and will do better. And YES: I am a Were. NO apologies if that makes you uncomfortable)

Rant over.

Decency is Relative?

Sayyy What!?!

'Watching Neil Gabler's Head Explode':

http://bench.nationalreview.com/

Watching Neal Gabler's Head Explode . . .[Matthew J. Franck 01/07 07:44 PM]

is so much fun every Saturday on “Fox News Watch.” Last night I was out of the room when he burst a few fresh blood vessels, but my wife told me about it, and here’s the snippet from a transcript, just after host Eric Burns had asked whether Gerald Ford’s “decency wasn’t the right thing for the time?”

Neal Gabler: Decency? What do we call decency? A man who wants to get William Douglas off the Supreme Court? A rabid partisan . . . [Crosstalk]
Jane Hall: Can I say something? [Crosstalk]
Gabler: . . . who supported [Inaudible] [Crosstalk]
Burns: Jane, you—you may wrap up.
Gabler: Decency is—is relative . . . [Crosstalk]
Burns: Well, I could not—I could not disagree with you more about Gerald Ford's decency.

Me neither. Gerald Ford looks better all the time, if he can still make the hard left look foolish as it comes screeching to the rescue of its false idols.

-------------------

Can someone explain that to me? Decency is Relative? I can't even Begin to wrap my mind around the sheer idiocy of such a statement. I suppose the mugger who breaks your arm stealing your purse, is relatively More Decent than the one who breaks both your legs?

God Help Us. The Left cannot be allowed to create (what am I saying? Destroy) the future of the US.

There is a fringe party who have recently been permitted to field candiates for seats in the Dutch Parliament. These people 'believe it should be permissible for adults to have sex with children. Norbert DeJonge, secretary of the political party PNVD, a Dutch acronym that translates into “brotherly love, freedom and diversity,” told Cybercast News Service that there is nothing wrong with pedophilia or bestiality, the latter of which is legal in the Netherlands, as long as the child or the animal involved, demonstrate consent.'

http://www.bloggernews.net/13601

THAT is the kind of 'decency' that is coming to the US, if things continue the way they are. Giving 'special' minorities Special rights over all others, is what is leading us to this state of affairs. What's going to be grimly amusing will be the clash between special homosexuals 'rights' and special muslim 'rights' that is coming in Europe. I can only hope to God that people in the US and Canada will be paying attention when 'asian youths' (read: muslims) start using gays to light the fires of their European Intifada.

Decency.

Decency is treating people as EQUALS, not setting one group or another over the rest on the basis of their faith or sexual orientation. One can and Should implement laws to prevent discrimination, YES, but when those laws begin to favor one over another, divisiness is sure to follow.

Lord, I could go back and forth on this for hours. *sighs* Too bad many of those who read this won't have the Critical Thinking skills to see the Truth of the matter.

'Relative' should be relegated back to 'family member' and Physics. All else is just plain asking for trouble.

I've just realized: NANCY PELOSI IS RIGHT!

She recently said: "If we [the U.S. military] leave Iraq, then the insurgents will leave Iraq, the terrorists will leave Iraq."

She's right.

Of course she's right!

They'll leave. Or most of them will, now that Iranian infiltrators are taking up the reigns for them.

As for those who do leave?

Well, consider: If Pelosi and Co. manage to pull our troops out early, Al-Queda (You Say Al-Queda, I Say Al-Quaida, Let's Call The Whole Thing Off!... sorry) terrorists will:

First, get a nice rest.

Second, be able to both pull and pool their resources together.

Third, be able to allocate their substantial finances (thanks to 'charitable' fronts world-wide, Iran, the Salafists, and organizations like CAIR) to those targets they really want to be hitting (although killing members of islamic sects they don't agree with surely had its' bonuses).

Fourth, will be buying tickets to Israel, Europe and Especially the United States.

So Yeah. Pelosi is right on target. Or will be a target, soon enough. 'Cause she's right: If our troops are pulled out through cut-and-run policies (not to mention cut-the-military-budget-kuncinich), the terrorists WILL head out.

And Head For US.

Oh and you know what?

Once conyers gets his H.Res. 288 rammed down- errr, passed, your freedom to speak out will be severaly curtailed- in favor of the jihadists.

Have a Nice day!

House Resolution 288: would this resolution have Prevented a 'Piss Christ'?

Looks like HR 288 is going to be a study item for me for the time being.

Question to any and ALL who come across this blog (and who have a Real opinion and / or knowledge to back it up):

Would a House Resolution 'condemning bigotry and religious intolerance' have stopped the presentation of the 'art'work entitled 'Piss Christ'?

Is there any reason why a 'Piss Christ' can be permitted, but not a 'Piss koran'?

What is your sense of this, pro or con?

I also need a better understanding of House Resolutions. I understand some are non-binding. Is this the case for all, or is a Resolution the basis for later legislation? If that is the case, what specifically does the Resolution need to do in the way of a definition from which laws can be crafted?

My thanks for any help in understanding exactly what a Resolution is capable of affecting.

House Resolution 288: Class is In Session

Anyone care to help me out a bit?

I am searching for links to news articles about the following:

Acts of bigotry, violence or intolerance towards Christians or Christian organizations.

Speech Against the rights and liberties of Christians.

I'm curious to see what you've read or heard of in your own areas of the country (US, Canada, wherever). Even if it is so much as the local newspaper.
